Rapid business growth and a multitude of construction projects had placed pressure on Carillion’s relatively small telecoms team. All new developments had to be monitored to ensure they received the required services and support, and costs matched budget forecasts. Furthermore, there was no record of lines and services in use and telecoms data was historically managed through paper phone bills.
The Mala solution
By creating an inventory of all services and consolidating bills using BT OneBill, we provided Carillion with an up to date view of services in operation and attributed costs, and a single view of any discount packages to ensure they were correctly implemented.
Analysis of lines installed on previous building projects enabled the identification of those no longer required.
Ongoing management of the telecoms estate is assisted through the delivery of monthly management reports, which detail all costs and cost analysis, to enable Carillion to monitor expenses, track changes and have an accurate view of company telecoms expenditure.
